Hathor, goddess of love, music, beauty, fertility, inebriation, wreaths, malachite, lapis lazuli, sycamores, and the personification of the Milky Way.
The Egyptians often combined multiple deities into one, and Hathor was often merged with other goddesses. Once, she was paired with Sekhmet, a warrior goddess, and polar opposite personality. When some mortals insulted Ra, Sekhmet-Hathor transformed into a lion and slaughtered them. Getting quite bloodthirsty, she continued on her killing spree, and ended up slaying most of humanity. The other gods had to get her drunk to calm her down. Eventually the two goddesses evolved back into separate deities.
